The NHS recommends adults do at least 150 minutes of moderate activity a week, plus strength exercises on 2 days. In a busy city that sounds like a lot, but it’s about 22 minutes a day.
What counts as moderate activity?
Anything that raises your heart rate and makes you breathe faster but still lets you talk: brisk walking, cycling, dancing, swimming or pushing a buggy uphill.
10 ways to fit it in
- Walk to the next bus stop or Tube station
- Take the stairs at stations and work
- Do a 10-minute brisk walk after lunch
- Cycle with a hire bike for short trips
- Try a free parkrun on Saturday mornings
- Walk with friends instead of meeting for coffee
- Dance in the kitchen while dinner cooks
- Play actively with your children in the park
- Book a weekly swim at your local leisure centre
- Get off the sofa during every TV ad break
Strength at home
Twice a week, try 2 to 3 rounds of: 10 squats, 10 wall or knee press-ups, 10 glute bridges and a 20-second plank. No equipment needed.
Make it a routine
Pair new habits with ones you already have. Many customers take their morning LipNutrix capsule and head straight out for a walk. Follow our free 12-week plan for a simple week-by-week guide.
LipNutrix and our other products are food supplements, not medicines. Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. If you take medication, have a medical condition, or are pregnant or breastfeeding, speak to your GP or pharmacist before taking any supplement.
