What is collagen?
Collagen is the main structural protein in skin, and is also found in bones, tendons, hair and nails. There are many types; type I is the most common in skin. The body naturally makes less collagen as we age.

Collagen supplements usually contain hydrolysed collagen peptides, meaning the collagen has been broken down into smaller pieces. VERISOL® is a branded form of bioactive type I collagen peptides.
Collagen doesn’t have authorised health claims in the UK. Vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of the skin, so eating plenty of fruit and vegetables matters too.
